M&T Bank chairman and CEO Rene Jones is set to become a board member at ACV Auctions.

That means the leader of Buffalo's biggest bank will now have an official role with its hottest tech firm, which has gone from three co-founders to thousands of employees in a span of six years.

Jones is among four black CEOs on the Fortune 500 list.

"ACV Auctions and M&T Bank, together with many others across the community, are working together to expand and extend Buffalo's technology, innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem, and to position our community for success in the new economy," he said.

ACV is led by CEO George Chamoun and is headquartered in the Thomas R. Beecher Jr. Innovation Center.

Other new board members at ACV include Kirsten Castillo and Eileen Kamerick, neither of whom is based in Buffalo. ACV's news release noted that Kamerick "brings extensive experience serving on the boards of public and private companies, enhancing stakeholder value, helping to usher in successful IPOs, aiding in mergers and acquisitions, and executive leadership mentoring."
