a one-hour tour of some of Buffalo's most beloved neighborhoods. Each is offered
by a Neighborhood Association, a Block Club or a community leader. Understand
the history, see the architecture and meet the neighbors. You will be invited
in for a visit -- after all, Buffalo IS the City of Good Neighbors!

Green: The Greening of Buffalo

his seven-decade career, E.B. Green built a nationally-renowned architectural
firm whose work ranged stylistically and included many major residential, commercial,
industrial, civic, religious and campus commissions. Beginning at the First Presbyterian
Church, this tour takes in the residential areas of Richmond, Summer, Oakland,
Bryant, Delaware and North, and features the Goodyear Mansion, Mayfair Lane and

Windows of Trinity Episcopal Church
Trinity
may be one of the only churches anywhere graced by masterpieces by both John LaFarge
and Louis Tiffany. The intesity of the color in the opalescent stained glass invented
by LaFarge and refined by Tiffany is breathtaking. Disover why these stained glass
windows brought about an artistic and technical revolution in the art of stained

Saint Francis Xavier Church: Black Rock and the Religious Art of Buffalo
Learn the history of Buffalo as told through the religious art created by its immigrants. Explore historic Saint Francis Xavier Church and its stunning stained glass windows, see the growing collection of the Buffalo Religious Arts Center, and hear about re-use plans for the future.
One-hour docent-led tours at 11:00 a.m., 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. Meet at the church at 157 East Street. Cost: $5.00
Polonia District Pride
The Eastside of Buffalo is home to some of the region’s most important cultural, ethnic and architectural landmarks. With the founding of St. Stanislaus Parish in 1873, the area became one of the largest Polish-American colonies in the world outside of Poland. Forgotten Buffalo Tours will shine the spotlight on century old churches, an old world public market and art-deco masterpieces. Tour includes a number of stops at friendly neighborhood taverns and a home-cooked Polish meal.
